Well hello everyone! I’m Rachel Karl the Principal of Suite 4, and today we’re going to be talking about
“Why hire marketing agency?”
Oftentimes when I’m in a sales conversation with a business owner, and we get to the part about money, they’ll ask, “Well why would I want to spend two thousand dollars a month with Suite 4 when I can just go out and hire full-time Marketing person or find myself an
MBA to be my marketing director”?
And I always say, “You can certainly do that. That’s definitely an option, but just know the different things that you’re getting into when you go down that avenue because it’s not always an apples to apples comparison.”
So with an MBA when they come to you they oftentimes have a static set of skill sets that they come to you with, and with and agency like ours when you’re spending your two thousand dollars a month 100% of that is going into implementing marketing strategies for your business. For instance, some of the things that you might need on a monthly basis would be blogging. Maybe you might need some SEO or some social media marketing. Maybe you might need some email marketing or some pay-per-click ads through Google or Facebook. Perhaps you’re running a promotion and you need some strategy around how to implement your promotion. Or if you’re going to trade shows you might need some strategy on how to get the most leads at your trade shows and how to really make your booth stand out among your competitors. And sometimes you might need help with your local listings to keep those really up to date and accurate so that people can find you when they search for you online
So 100% of your marketing dollars are being spent on that as opposed to with an MBA where you would have the employee overhead, the vacation, sick time, the benefits all of that, Certainly with an MBA someone who is involved in your company on an every-single-day basis, and they’re really in there looking at your products and services, they’re talking with your other employees about those—they might have a deeper understanding of that than an agency would. But a lot of the time an MBA or marketing director in a company will have to outsource in order to implement that strategy. So they would outsource to an agency like Suite 4 in order to really get that done—and that increases the marketing spend.
So, again there’s definitely benefits to both sides and just remember it’s not an apples to apples comparison so that you know what you’re getting into, whichever decision you end up making.
Absolutely agree. Hiring a Marketing Agency Saves Costs. When the economy tightens, companies tend to cut costs. Marketing is often the first to go because they are seen as a “discretionary” expense. Reducing and expanding the marketing budget is expensive. In the short-term, reducing or canceling marketing activities incurs cost. Agencies already have cross-functional professionals on the core team that have been senior management with some of the top agencies, design firms or companies in the world. I see their successful results.
Thanks for the comment Enrike! We agree. 🙂
